A great friendly site for learning photography. Features weekely challenges (contests) with a certain subject. You can register for a free account to submit photos to open challenges or choose to pay for a membership ($5 per month or $25 per year) for more privileges. Other useful section of the site: forum, photography tutorials, How do they do it (photographers explain the way they obtain a certain image).

Photos of the year
Bi-weekly photography contests and challenges, articles and forum. Photographers of the Year will be awarded at each year-end to the best 12 photographers demonstrated the best photography ability in the year. Photography awards will be also given to monthly and bi-weekly contests in different gallery sections.
